As a professional piercing technician, Jef Saunders has had a long-standing passion for body modification. His journey began when he was introduced to the art of piercing by the legendary Fakir Musafar himself, one of the pioneers of body modification. This experience, training with the Fakir Intensives, turned out to be the most pivotal moment in his life.

Saunders attended the Fakir Intensives Basic Piercing Intensive in San Francisco, California in 1999 and received excellent guidance from qualified piercers in Rhode Island. Although he initially found an apprenticeship with a piercer in Connecticut, she was still new to her career and couldn't offer much mentorship.

To gain more experience, Saunders began practicing piercing regularly, allowing him to better relate to and assist his clients. He currently wears six piercings himself and has had dozens in the past. His blog, 'Confessions of a Piercing Nerd: Body Piercing, Rationally,' showcases his approach to piercing as a harmonious blend of passion and consideration.
